Organic Mashed Cauliflower…. Yum!

This Organic Mashed Cauliflower, is seriously delicious! I actually like it better than mashed potatoes, but that is just me. I would recommend trying it, especially if you love the mashed taste without all the extra starch. Its easy, quick and there are so many ways to flavor it the way you would want it to be flavored without messing it all up.

What I used (serves about two people)

1. Organic cauliflower

2. Organic Pepper

3. Organic Butter ( I used a vegan kind)

4. Organic Olive Oil

What to do:

1. Wash Cauliflower head ( I always wash with vinegar)

2. break the cauliflower into florets or just chop

3. add cauliflower to boiling water for about 7-10 minutes or until pretty soft

4. Drain, and then add to a blender. Slowly blend and slowly add about 1 spoonful of butter, two spoons of olive oil, and as much salt and pepper as you want.

5. Poor into bowl

6. Enjoy!

Play with the ingredients, try adding organic garlic powder or any other spices that you might enjoy!

Top Ten reasons why I love the Chia Seed. . . Okay, maybe Eleven!

Hey Everyone,

I have read a ton about the chia seed over the last few years. I discovered it for myself a while ago, and have been taking it here and there for a few years now. I am determined to add even more of the chia seed to my everyday life style. There are wonderful benefits that come from the chia seed. There are also numerous ways to incorporate to your daily meals and lifestyle.

Top 10 Reasons why I love the CHIA SEED

1. Aids in Weight Loss

2. Increases endurance

3. Increases energy ( No more energy drinks )

4. Prevents illness ( Remember, anything that boosts your immune system is going to help prevent you from getting sick, even when you are around people who have caught a nasty flu or cold. I haven’t been sick in almost a year and I know I can thank all of the great food I put in my body)

5. Fights disease. What a great way to fight any bad bacteria in your body, we want to keep ONLY good bacteria. Lets rewind a bit back to me not being sick an almost a year. The last time I was sick, I fought the cold on my own. I allowed my body to heal itself by eating foods that would help boost my immune system and fight the illness.

6. Helps improve nails, hair and skin. Who doesn’t want better looking nails, hair and skin? I sure do.

7. Is one of the most beneficial foods around. Add this to your diet! you will feel and see a difference.

8. Helps heal skin problems such as eczema, dry skin, and rashes.

9. Chia seed contains antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, amino acids, protein, and the wonderful omega-3 fatty acid called alpha-linolenic acid.

(Benefits of Alpha-linolenic acid include, but are not limited to: Fighting heart disease, Lowers high cholesterol, decreases inflammation (specifically in Lungs), lowers high blood pressure and so much more)

10. Because of all of the great antioxidants, chia contains many anti-aging properties.

Okay I have to add one more! There are just so many wonderful things about the chia seed it is so hard to narrow it down to just 10.

11. Do you have a dog? Chia seed is wonderful for Dogs! just add a little chia seed gel to their diet to keep their coat looking shiny, and their body healthy and amazing.

A fun and interesting fact about the chia seed… The aztecs used the chia oil for their skin and hair. Pretty cool huh? I think so.

As stated before, there are so many ways to add the chia seed to your diet. You can bake with the seed, add it to salads, smoothies, food, you can even make your very own drink!

You can buy already made drinks at your local health/natural food stores. If you can, i suggest making your own. I do however, have a favorite brand from when I am on the go and don’t have time… MAMMA CHIA! =)

Hope this helped open your eyes to the benefits of the Chia Seed =)

My version of Frozen Banana Bites!

I was browsing pinterest (who doesn’t love pinterest) and came across a blog that made these delicious looking banana treats. I decided to make them, but adjusted the ingredients a bit and they came out amazing. YUM!

What you will need:

1. at least 4 organic bananas but you could use less or more depending on how many you want to make

2. Organic Cinnamon

3. Organic Yogurt. I used yogurt made with coconut Milk since I can not have Milk. It still does contain live cultures. So it works out!

4. Peanut Butter. I used a replacement of peanut butter.

Image

What You Will Need To Do:

1. Cut one banana and put into a bowl.

2. Spoonful of peanut butter and put into the same bowl.

3. Spoonful of Yogurt and put into the same bowl.

4. Splash of cinnamon

5. Mix/Mash all together

6. Then you will cut about a half inch thick banana put it on top of a try and put some of the peanut butter mix on top of the piece of banana, then cut another piece of banana and lay on top of mixture.

7. do this for however many frozen bites you want and freeze for 2-3 hours.

8. Remember to cover the top in freezer because Freezers release gases that we don’t want in our food, yuck… so cover up!

9. Eat and Enjoy!

My version of Cucumber Salad

Hey everyone!

I am so sorry I haven’t posted in a bit. I have actually been busy speaking with a few companies about teaming up. I am really excited about all of this. Nothing is set in stone, but I will keep you all updated.

I wanted to post the salad I have been having for dinner. I have been working a lot and haven’t had much time to eat. I had to prepare something fast, easy, nutritious and yummy.

All you Need:

Cucumber

Tomatoes

Red onions

Lemon or Lime

Salt

Pepper

Mix it all together and you get… DELICIOUSNESS

Cucumber -  It’s Amazing how many times I have heard someone tell me that cucumbers have no nutritional value. This is NOT true. Cucumbers are made of almost entirely water. Water, of course, has nutritional value. Cucumbers contain vitamins such as B3, B5, magnesium, potassium, iron, biotin, Folate, Calcium and vitamin K. Cucumbers are great for skin, helps with bladder issues, reduces cholesterol, aids in weight loss, reduces blood pressure and helps with Arthritis Pain.

tomatoes I think tomatoes are one of my favorite things to eat. I can eat them everyday and I still wouldn’t get tired of them. Tomatoes are a great source of vitamin A, C and K, potassium, fiber, magnesium, zinc, folate and iodine. Tomatoes are great for your skin, vision, teeth, hair, and bones.

Red Onions Onions are so great for respiratory problems. I have had Asthma all of my life and when I feel an attack coming on I mix honey and Onion juice and take about a spoon full and I can feel my body start to calm down. Onions are also great for Anemia, they help treat and prevent diabetes, great immune booster and are known to contain to have anti-inflammatory properties,

Sea salt- The great thing about sea salt is that it isn’t as processed as regular salt. When using Sea Salt you don’t have to use as much to taste it. Sea salt helps to alkalies the body naturally. It also helps reduce inflammation in the respiratory system. Sea Salt helps with osteoporosis because it actually stores itself in the bones which helps keep the bones strong. Salt aids in Happiness and sleeping well.

Pepper-  Pepper is a great way to help boost your immune system. I add it to almost everything. One of the greatest things about pepper, in my opinion, is that it aids in weight-loss. Pepper helps to improve digestion as well acts as an agent to help break down fat cells. It has properties that help our body sweat out the bad toxins, which is wonderful. Getting rid of bad toxins isn’t the easiest thing to do, so to have something so simple as pepper provide help in that area, is amazing. It contains Vitamin A and C, and is also known to be antibacterial agent.

Lime - Lime is a great way to prevent colds because the amount of vitamin C that it contains. It also helps with digestion, skin and joints. One thing I love about Lime and Lemon is how it helps with nausea. Whenever I am nauseous I mix together  lemon or lime juice with salt and drink it. It works wonders. I start to feel better in no time. Lime also helps with preventing certain cancers as well as acts as anti inflammatory agent.
