Canned Food… Good? or Bad?

I have been doing a lot of studying on canned food lately.

I don’t want to take up too much time writing this and just get right to the point.

Why isn’t canned food good for you??

Reasons….

1. Cans contain BPA ( Bisphenol A )

2. BPA is a harmful chemical that is put into cans to keep the can and the food separate. What it really does, is it keeps the can from corroding which allows the item to be kept on the store shelf for a longer period of time.

3. BPA leaks into food.

4. BPA increases  infertility problems, risk of Breast Cancer ,Prostate Cancer, diabetes and many other health problems.

5. Bottom line, BPA= No GOOD

6. stay away from canned foods as much as possible! please!

Feeling a bit under the weather . . .

Today I woke up not feeling so well…

Even though it’s no fun being sick, I do have some secret weapons to help me fight this cold.

Pure 100% organic Orange Juice

Zinc Chews that have magnesium to help boost my immune system

Spray bottle filled with alcohol so I can keep spraying everything I touch and my hands.

And… Garlic! garlic you ask? yes! Garlic has so many wonderful properties to help your immune system and kill those pesky germs in your body.

What to do with the Garlic? First chop it up in a little pieces and start boiling some water, add some loose leaf tea ( I prefer a white, caffeine free tea) and when that comes to a boil add garlic for about 3 minutes then drink.

it will taste, um, not that great but oh so worth it.

Want a little bit of flavor? Add Raw Honey! My Last secret weapon. It will help neutralize the flavor of the garlic so it isn’t so strong.

Drink up!!!!

Gluten Free, Dairy Free Organic, Vegan Cake….

My best friend is an amazing baker.

She made my moms birthday cake

Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Organic, and Vegan

You might be wondering if this cake even tastes yummy without all of the bad ingredients.

Well…

ANY DOUBT YOU MAY HAVE, ABOUT THIS CAKE TASTING DELICIOUS, NEEDS TO BE THROWN OUT THE WINDOW. GO ON… WALK OVER TO YOUR WINDOW AND TOSS IT! BECAUSE… IT TASTES INCREDIBLE!

I wanted and still want to eat this cake entirely by myself. I know I wasn’t the birthday girl, but this cake was mouth watering. Even though both my mom and I were hesitant to cut this cake  and allow everyone to try it, because we wanted it all to ourselves , we went ahead and shared. Everyone ate every last bite and I have to say, all of our taste buds were completely satisfied.

My moms favorite flowers are white and yellow roses and look what she made. Not only is it a cake that is beautiful, it tastes even better than one could imagine.

She makes the best cakes in town, and can fit your needs.

Contact her if you are in need of cake, cupcakes, or anything sweet for that matter. An intelligent, caring , talented girl. You can’t go wrong with that!

vegan, gluten-free, corn-free, wheat-free, soy-free, etc…

Hey everyone!

I know I haven’t been around in a bit. I actually have great reason!  Well, I hope you think so.

These last Few weeks have been a whirlwind! My mother and I have both been Ill with different kinds of illnesses. My mom has recently been diagnosed with arthritis in the neck. If any of you have arthritis or know someone who does, then you know the excruciating pain a person goes through. My mom has been through Heck and back, but we have finally stabilized the pain and are hoping to live a new lifestyle that will hopefully keep the pain from returning.

One of the main things she will have to do is  avoid certain foods that trigger the pain.

In the middle of my mom’s crisis, I got the Flu. A really, really nasty Flu. I was in bed for almost four days, after which, the flu decided to still hang out a few days after that. I was in so much pain. I am sure most of you know how that is… AWFUL.

GOOD NEWS!…FINALLY!… I AM BETTER!

So now I have to share with you all, my moms new lifestyle. Her new Diet aka Lifestyle consists of this: Corn-free, Gluten-Free, Wheat-Free, tomato Free, Nut-Free,Soy-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegan, Lemon-Free and a few other things I can’t remember. The reason why she has to avoid all of these Foods is because they, in one form or another, Trigger this excruciating pain in her hands, arms, and Sometimes legs. We definitely don’t want that, so we’re taking everything out of her diet.

We’re not going to be able to be perfect, this is all new. We’re going to do our best and hope that we can do this for at least 80% of her diet.

I really hope you all follow along! And if you have any ideas or recipes please feel free to share.

I Appreciate everyone’s support!

XoXo,

Ashley

My very cute mama

Prayers are very much appreciated =)
